Pedagogy
The goal of the Pedagogy Laboratory is to identify the characteristics and key features of adult learning strategies useful for studying and promoting parents' and professionals' understanding and use of evidence-based early childhood intervention and family support practices. Adult learning refers to the ways in which adults acquire information and skills based on prior experience and knowledge they consider useful for improving their current understanding and use of specific kinds of practices. Adult learning is conceptualized as active involvement and participation in contextually and personally relevant experiences and opportunities that lead to improved skill acquisition and personal mastery. The Pedagogy Laboratory activities currently include a number of studies and initiatives investigating methods and strategies for promoting practitioner adoption and adherence to evidence-based early childhood intervention and family support practices. The interested reader is referred to our CASEinPoint (Volume 1, Number 6 ) and CASEmakers (Volume 1, Number 9) publications for additional information about coaching practices.
